Bicycle Safety
All bicyclists are required to comply with all bicycle, pedestrian, and motor vehicle laws of the State of New Jersey. This means that anyone who operates a bicycle MUST...
-
wear a helmet if you are 16 years of age or under
-
stay to the right in single file
-
stop at ALL stop signs
-
have lights/reflectors and a bell/horn on their bicycles
-
never "double ride"
-
never have another person sit upon any part of a bicycle that is not intended for sitting
Parents are reminded to talk with your children about bicycle safety. Failure to comply with the above laws will result in the issuance of a summons to both the child and the parent.
