Borough of Bay Head Planning Board
An Overview
The Planning Board consists of volunteer residents appointed by the Mayor who are responsible for preparing and enforcing the Borough Master Plan in compliance with provisions of the New Jersey Municipal Land Use Law (MLUL). Following adoption of the Master Plan and Land-use Ordinance by the Borough Council, the Planning Board hears and determines all variances to those ordinances submited by an applicant.

Planning Board Meetings
The Planning Board meets for Public Hearing once each month on the third (3rd) Wednesday at 7:30 PM at the municipal building, 81 Bridge Avenue, Bay Head, NJ 08742.
Future Proposals
Before a building permit is issued, a zoning permit is required. If an applicant is denied a zoning permit the applicant has the right to request a Planning Board meeting to request the needed variances to the Land-use Ordinance. The Planning Board Clerk and/or the Zoning Officer can issue the application for a Planning Board hearing with the instructions to process the request.
