NJ Homestead Benefit Program

The State of New Jersey will be mailing out the 2016 homestead benefit application packets with an anticipated delivery date to begin September 17th in Ocean County. It may take the U.S. Postal Service several days to deliver applications throughout the county. The deadline for filing is November 30, 2018.

Homeowners are advised not to call the New Jersey Division of Taxation until at least one week following the expected delivery date. With very few exceptions, homeowner applications must be filed over the Internet or by phone. The answers to most questions can be found in the packet. Homeowners who receive an application should read it carefully, and if they meet the eligibility requirements, complete the worksheet in the packet prior to filing.
